Michael Köck

Michael Koeck is an Austrian biologist born in 1968 who worked for 18 years as a currator in the Haus des Meeres - Aqua terra Zoo, a public aquarium in Vienna. He is now representing this aquairum as a Freshwater Conservation Manager.  Since 2023 he has lived in Morelia, Mexico and runs Plan G Mexico, a ten years conservation plan for Mexico's Goodeid fishes.

His talk will present the habitats of different Mexican freshwater fish species including the families Goodeidae, Poeciliidae, Profundulidae and a few more.  Underwater videos will be the central part of the presentation and will showcase examples of possible aquarium design for nature or biotope aquariums.
