Peter George

Peter George been around tropical fish since birth. There was a 20-gallon tank next to his crib (his grandmother kept guppies). He has had at least one fish tank most of his life and has kept everything, but now is focused on cichlids, and Victorians in particular. He has about 30 tanks, and keep 18 CARES species, with the Cameroon crater lakes as my 2nd tier of fish. One tank holds some really special Centrals, but I’m almost all African.​

He is an ACA and CARES Speaker, CARES East Africa Lagoon Species Regional Coordinator, CARES Lake Victoria Regional Co-Coordinator, American Cichlid Association CARES Coordinator, CARES Single Species Maintenance Project Founder, CARES Team Specialist, and 2-time recipient of the ACA CARES Member of the Year Award. He has been involved with NECA for 15 years and have served as President for 3 years. He has handled speakers and NECA’s import efforts as well.
